This month’s issue features the latest in Cindy Podurgal Chambers’ series – At Home in Clarksville. Chambers sat down with photographer Susan Bryant and her husband, artist Billy Renkl, to talk about their unique 85-year-old home in a story entitled Susan Bryant & Billy Renkl: Hands, Hearts, and Living with Art.
Visit Clarksville Announces ‘Create at Collinsville’ Event Series

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Arts & Heritage Council, Two Rivers Society of Painters, Downtown Artists Co-op, and Visit Clarksville will host Create at Collinsville, a weekend celebration of traditional Tennessee arts in September 2023. Artists are invited to participate in events throughout the next several months, including workshops, a Plein air paint-out, a community quick draw, and a photography contest.
Two free workshops will be held on Saturday, September 16th at Historic Collinsville Pioneer Settlement. Award-winning artist, Kitty Harvill, will conduct a plein air workshop from 10:00am until 4:00pm.

Clarksville, TN – In the fall of 1982, a 28-year-old photographer named Susan Bryant arrived at Austin Peay State University (APSU) as an assistant professor in the school’s Department of Art.
She was just a few years older than her students, but as she shared her passion for the art form with them, she inadvertently made several lifelong friends.
Reciprocity: 37 Years of APSU Student Photographers,” runs through September 13th.

Generously supported by the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA), the Department of Art + Design can bring nationally and internationally recognized artists and thinkers to Clarksville with programming that is free and open to the public.
