Clarksville's Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – This month the Customs House unveiled Figuratively Speaking, its National Juried Exhibition. This is the first time the biennial show has taken on a theme.

Juror Ruth Crnkovich selected thirty-two pieces from over ninety-five entries.

Clarksville’s Customs House Museum Gears Up for Biennial National Exhibition

Clarksville's Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – The human form is the theme of the upcoming national juried exhibition at the Customs House Museum. Entries for the show, Figuratively Speaking, are currently being accepted. The 2014 show is open to artists 18 years and older, residing in the United States.

The juror for the exhibition is Ruth Crnkovich, fine art appraiser and collection management specialist for private collectors, corporations, and museums. Ruth has served on multiple museum boards, including as a founding member of the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park in Illinois.

The Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN — It may be unusual for an artist and an iron foundry president to join together in a unique cultural endeavor. Then again, there is nothing usual about Clarksville sculptor Mike Andrews‘ “New Old Stock” exhibit at the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center.

Clarksville FoundryThe relationship between Andrews and the Clarksville Foundry began in 1983 after he visited the historic manufacturing company as a student of Tennessee artist Olen Bryant.
