Everyone had a Blast at Clarksville’s Riverfest Friday night

Clarksville RiverfestClarksville, TN – Clarksville’s 2022 Riverfest Festival kicked off on Friday with music, fun, food, and craft vendors taking over McGregor Park and a mile-long stretch of Riverside Drive along the banks of the Cumberland River.

The popular Riverfest Family Zone drew a crowd early, and thanks to sponsorship by Hankook Tire, there is no charge for access to the area this year. Inside, families found a variety of booths offering games and prizes, information and activities, and arts and crafts by Artlink.

Clarksville’s Riverfest returns September 9th-10th

Clarksville RiverfestClarksville, TN – The 33rd annual Riverfest Festival put on by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department takes place Friday, September 9th from 5:00pm until 11:00pm and Saturday, September 10th from 11:00am to 11:00pm.

Riverfest takes place along the banks of the Cumberland River at McGregor Park.

Come out and celebrate the cultural diversity of Clarksville through music, local eats, drinks, shopping, and recreational activities for the entire family.

AJAX Distribution Company announced as main stage sponsor for Riverfest 2022

Clarksville RiverfestClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s 33rd annual Riverfest will return to McGregor on September 9th-10th with vendors, entertainment, food and much more.

AJAX Distribution Company will be this year’s main stage sponsor and will be supplying beer products for purchase during the festival.

Maggie Houts, Event Planning Supervisor for the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department said the sponsorship with AJAX Distribution Company will make the festival even more successful.

Clarksville’s Riverfest Festival begins this week

RiverfestClarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Riverfest Festival, brought to you by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, takes place this week, Thursday, September 9th through Saturday, September 11th, 2021.

The 33rd annual Riverfest is expected to bring over 30,000 people to the RiverWalk at McGregor Park and the banks of the Cumberland River. Riverfest is a celebration of ars and recreation. There will be music, art, inflatables, family events, and a whole lot more.

The weather for the 2021 Riverfest will be absolutely perfect. The highs are expected to be in the upper 80’s with a slight cooling breeze. At night, the temperature will be in the upper 50’s and lower 60’s with a calm wind. A light jacket or something to cover the arms would be highly recommended.

Riverfest starts Thursday, September 9th with the Juried Art Show which starts at 5:00pm and goes until 7:00pm.

The art show showcases the work of local professionals, amateurs, and aspiring artists in three divisions: professional, amateur, and youth.

Categories for all divisions are: Photography, Painting (includes acrylic, oil, and watercolor), Drawing, Digital Art, Graphics and Printmaking, 2D and 3D Mixed Media (non-sculptural), Fiber Arts, Animation, 3D Categories: Sculpture, Wood, Ceramic, Glass, Jewelry, and Metalworks.

The Riverfest Juried Art Show is held at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center located in Liberty Park at 8 Champions Way.

Music and events at Riverfest kick off Friday night, September 10th on the RiverWalk at McGregor Park. Everything gets started at 5:00pm and goes until 10:00pm.

Riverfest starts Saturday, September 11th at 11:00am and runs until 11:00pm.

The annual Riverfest Cardboard Boat Regatta sponsored by Water Dogs Scuba & Safety LLC will take place at 1:00pm on Saturday at the McGregor Park Boat Ramp.

Teams build their vessels out of cardboard and race 100 yards down the Cumberland River. Awards will be presented based on boat design, boat aesthetics, team unity, costumes, and the infamous Titanic Award.

The featured performer for the 33rd annual Riverfest celebration is Generation Radio. Generation Radio is a supergroup featuring legendary musicians from Rascal Flatts, Journey, and Chicago.

Generation Radio includes these legends of Classic country and rock music:

  • Jay DeMarcus is a two-time Grammy Award Winner with Rascal Flatts.
  • Deen Castronovo is the former lead singer and drummer for Journey.
  • Jason Scheff was the lead vocalist and bass player for the multi-platinum band Chicago for more than 30 years.
  • Renowned session players and sidemen Chris Rodriguez and Tom Yankton round out the lineup.

There will be a number of performers, groups, and entertainers on the Riverfest stages Friday and Saturday.


With beautiful weather and a great lineup of music and events. this year’s Riverfest Celebration is shaping up to be the best one yet.

Riverfest Regatta rows on despite COVID-19

Clarksville RiverFest 2020Clarksville, TN – Many of the events at this year’s Riverfest had to be re-engineered, thanks to COVID-19 Coronavirus. Though some were canceled because of social distancing concerns, the good people at Clarksville Parks and Recreation did manage to find ways to carry on in the spirit of Clarksville’s favorite outdoor festival.

With twelve days of events, such as the Juried Art Show, Virtual Talent Competition, Virtual 5K, and the ever-popular Riverfest Cardboard Boat Regatta, the new-normal version of the festival was smaller and quieter, but a success none the less.

Jury selects the festival’s top artists for awards

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation has announced the winners of the Riverfest Juried Art Show.

With the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic still having a widespread impact, the show was converted into a 3-day exhibit September 10th-12th, 2020 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

Selected artwork was hung and winning artwork labeled with ribbons, along with a slideshow displayed at the event to recognize all winning artists.

Riverfest to come to a close Saturday with Fireworks Display

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – With the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic still having a widespread impact, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department adapted the traditional three-day Riverfest celebration into nearly two weeks of in-person and virtual events.

Riverfest 2020 will come to a close on Saturday, September 12th with a fireworks display from 9:00pm-9:15pm near Kings Run Bark Park inside Liberty Park. The park gates will be closed until 6:00pm on September 12th in preparation for the event.
