Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – A citizen’s input workshop to discuss a potential grant application and project will be held at Kenwood Elementary School, located 1101 Peachers Mill Road, on the evening of January 5th, 2016 beginning at 6:00pm.

The City of Clarksville is teaming up with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System to seek federal/state funding to assist with providing students at the Kenwood School Complex better and safer routes by adding a series of wide sidewalks through Heritage Park and along East Pine Mountain Road.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Bel-Aire Pool is one of five public city pools in Clarksville. It was recently closed due to maintenance issues. Mark Tummons, Clarksville Parks and Recreation Director, says resident input will aid in the development of future plans for the pool.

“From this process, we hope to generate involvement from conception to completion,” Tummons says. “By interacting with citizens in real-time and having two-way communication we hope to create a high level of citizen engagement.”

South Guthrie Community Center Public Input Meeting

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Office of Facilities Development, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Department, will hold a Public Input meeting to allow interested citizens to express their comments concerning the schematic design for the historic rehabilitation and addition of the South Guthrie Community Center. The meeting will be held at the center, located at 5025 Guthrie Road, on Tuesday, January 24th at 6:30pm.

The South Guthrie Community Center will celebrate its 90th anniversary this year, along with the 100th anniversary of the Rosenwald School initiative. The site was the former Warfield School built in 1922 with Rosenwald School funds. The site serves as the home of the South Guthrie Improvement Association.

The meeting will be held at the William O. Beach Civic Hall, Tuesday, October 11th at 6:30pm.

Those who are unable attend the meeting may stop by the Facilities Development office, 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 201, to review the proposed plan and leave comments.
