CDE Lightband Increases Internet Speeds to Customers

Clarksville, TN – CDE Lightband, the municipal power and broadband provider in the city of Clarksville, announced today the release of new, faster Internet speeds for all of their existing customers.
The speeds will increase almost all of the customer speeds for both residential and commercial use by five times the speed they have today.

Over 17,000 customers in the Clarksville area enjoy access to an active Ethernet fiber to the premise system built in 2008 by the Clarksville Department of Electricity.

APSU moves up 18 spots on Best Colleges list

Clarksville, TN – The U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges 2014 rankings were released September 10th, and Austin Peay State University jumped an astounding 18 spots this year, placing 69th in the Regional University South rankings.
That category includes schools from the southeastern United States that offer a full range of undergraduate programs, with some master’s programs but few doctoral programs. Last year, APSU ranked 87th in that category. [Read more]
APSU gets International Recognition for Student Success Initiative

More than a year ago, APSU launched Degree Compass, a course recommendation system to help students stay on track toward graduation by. It was dubbed “the Netflix effect” because it provides students with personalized recommendations based on their academic transcript, similar to the way Netflix makes movie suggestions to customers.
