Clarksville Parks and Recreation forming NFL Youth Flag Football League

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is offering an organized NFL flag football league for youths in Clarksville this fall. Boys and girls, ages 5-10 are invited to take part. Weekly practices begin August 24th, 2019 with league play on Saturdays through November 2nd at Liberty Park.
APSU music double major Garrett Coscolluela a part of world championship-winning drum corps

Clarksville, TN – For the past four years, Austin Peay State University senior music education and music performance double major Garrett Coscolluela has spent one weekend in August marching on the field of Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
But it wasn’t until this past August — in his final trip to the home of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts — that Coscolluela had the hardware to prove he was among the best in what’s considered the major leagues of marching band performance.

Clarksville, TN – Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery in Clarksville announces the addition of it’s new Video Wall to the pub’s amenities.
The Video Wall consists of nine LED flat screen televisions with full HD, layered 3×3 for a total viewing area of 170″. The wall has multiple configurations to include placing each of the nine tvs on different individual channels, or the entire nine tvs on one channel for 170″ viewing area.

Kickoff is slated for 5:00pm and the game will be shown on one of The Kilt’s jumbo 180 inch television screens.

Governors Own Marching Band Continues to Grow
Clarksville, TN – In 2006, the sports writer Ivan Maisel published an article on ESPN.com listing the 20 reasons college football is better than the NFL. For reason no. 12, he listed “College halftimes.”
“College halftime means tradition,” he wrote. “Marching bands dot the I in Ohio or at least rouse the emotions by playing the fight song…it’s an inestimable part of the college football experience. NFL halftime means, um, time to make a sandwich.”
Wounded Warriors biking across the country to stop in Clarksville for Rivers and Spires Festival

Clarksville TN – The ‘Wounded Warrior Welcome Project’ was formed in 2011 to welcome home injured soldiers who were returning to Middle Tennessee. The Project has organized welcome home more than a half dozen soldiers returning from their stays at Army Medical Hospitals in DC and Texas.
In addition we made 4 trips to Walter Reed Medical Hospital in 2011 and will be making 2 more this year. [Read more]
