Austin Peay State University endows scholarship honoring late communication professor John Moseley

Clarksville, TN – In 2014, Austin Peay State University established the John W. Moseley Media Room in the Dunn Center, but nearly three years later, a related scholarship honoring the late professor had not been endowed.
“I found out we were short about $500.00,” Dr. Mike Gotcher, former chair of the Austin Peay State University Department of Communication, said. “I made a donation, and I contacted Bikers Who Care, who also helped out, and we got it endowed.”

Clarksville, TN – On December 9th, Dr. Mike Gotcher, professor of communication and interim executive director of Extended Education at Austin Peay State University, will deliver the keynote address at the APSU’s Winter Commencement.
He will speak at both commencement ceremonies, at 9:00am and 2:00pm, in the University’s Dunn Center.

Clarksville, TN – Barry Gresham, Austin Peay State University instructor of communication, recently received a national award at the Broadcast Education Association’s annual convention in Las Vegas. Gresham won the Faculty Short Form Sports Video Category: Best of Competition for his video, “Reedy Sears – APSU Hall of Fame.”

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) recognized several outstanding faculty members during the annual Academic Honors and Awards Ceremony in the Mabry Concert Hall on Tuesday, April 26th.
The University’s top faculty honor, the APSU National Alumni Association Distinguished Professor Award, was presented to Dr. Mike Gotcher, professor of communication.

Clarksville, TN – Several faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University announce their recent professional and scholarly activities.
Dr. Mike Gotcher, chair of the APSU Department of Communication, Dr. Anna Filippo, assistant professor of communication, Tracy Nichols, communication instructor, and Dr. Melony Shemberger, assistant director of communication in the APSU Public Relations Office, judged various individual events and debate rounds at the Northeast High School Speech and Debate Tournament held February 4th at the school in Clarksville. Austin Peay GovTV Channel 99 now on U-verse TV

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s GovTV Channel 99, which broadcasts public, education and government (PEG) programming for the city of Clarksville, is now carried on AT&T U-verse.
Dr. Mike Gotcher, chair of the APSU Department of Communication who oversees the operation of GovTV, said the ability to offer GovTV on an additional subscription service is “a positive feature for the APSU community and Clarksville.” [Read more]
