Kroger becomes Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified

Montgomery County, TN – On Tuesday, May 28th, 2019, a green ribbon cutting was held to recognize Kroger as the latest Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified organization. The certification covered all three Kroger stores in Clarksville (Dover Crossing, Madison Street and Lowes Drive).
Those in attendance at the Green Ribbon Cutting were Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett, Montgomery County Chief of Staff Kyle Johnson, Program Manager Carlye Sommers and Program board members Daryl Pater, Haley Randell and Doug Jones.
Manna Café Ministries to hold Manna Madness in March

Clarksville, TN – Manna Café Ministries will be conducting a food drive blitz throughout the month of March called Manna Madness.
Manna Madness will have food drives at select grocery stores each weekend of March.
The goal is to raise over 28,000 pounds of food and over $5,000.
APSU part of state’s inaugural Food Waste Initiative

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) announced the first group of participants in Get Food Smart TN – a statewide initiative aimed at reducing food waste.
The inaugural class, which includes Austin Peay State University, was recognized on April 20th, 2018 at an event hosted by former TDEC Commissioner Bob Martineau and TDEC Assistant Commissioner Dr. Kendra Abkowitz Brooks at the William R. Snodgrass Tennessee Tower in Nashville.
Clarksville Police Department’s 5k Run/Walk for C.O.P.S. a huge success

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department held a 5k Run/Walk to raise money for C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) this past Saturday, May 13th, 2017. The event was held at the Clarksville Police Department Headquarters located at 135 Commerce Street. The entry fee was $25.00.
“The weather today was perfect. There are a lot of families here and around 200 participates,” said CPD Captain Scott Thornton.

This year’s events will be held May 12th-16th at various locations around Clarksville, to include the Pinnacle Bowling Center, Swan Lake Sports Complex, D&D Blacklight Mini Golf, Rossview High School track, and the Crow & Kleeman Community Centers.
