111th Lone Oak Picnic has fantastic turnout

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN – Last Saturday, July 27th, 2019, the Central Civitan held the 111th Annual Lone Oak Picnic at the Central Civitan Club building located at 275 Highway 13.

This free event featured live music, inflatables for the kids, face painting, silent auction, a car cruise in and off course the BBQ the picnic is famous for.

Great day, great crowd, great weather, one hundred and eleven years of doing this and going strong,” said Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson. “This is one of the biggest and best organized community events that I have ever been to in Montgomery County. Talking to other Sheriffs that go to events across the state, they say the same thing.”

Montgomery County Government releases New MoCo Info Phone App to keep Residents Informed

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government is excited to announce their new community phone app. The new app, called MoCo Info, can now be easily downloaded to smartphones.

The app has two primary areas to choose from: Community and Sheriff’s Office. In the Community section users can click on info for county departments, court docket, social media, traffic awareness, historic trails, news, and employment.

Hilltop Supermarket kicked off the 2018 Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook-Off, Friday night

May 5, 2018

Hilltop SupermarketClarksville, TN – On Friday night, May 4th, 2018, Hilltop Supermarket held their 1st annual Country Kids Cook-Off. The event is part of the 2018 Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook-Off.

Hundreds of people attended the event despite the overcast skies and chance of rain. The rain held off and it turned into a wonderful night.

“This is just an all around good community event right here at Hilltop and always appreciated what they do to bring the community together,” said Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson.

109th annual Lone Oak Picnic a big hit with the Community

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN – The Central Civitan Club held the 109th annual Lone Oak Picnic at the Central Civitan Building on Saturday, July 29th, 2017. The event started at 10:00am and went on until around 3:00pm.

People from all around stopped by for great food, entertainment, and good conversation. Event though it was not an election year, there was a great turnout for the event.

“We really appreciate everyone being here. We had a really good crowd this year. If you weren’t able to be here, I’m sorry you missed it. Maybe you can be here next year,” said Larry Pitts with Central Civitan.

Hilltop Supermarket’s 2nd annual Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook Off better than ever

May 9, 2017

Hilltop SupermarketClarksville, TN – On Saturday, May 6th, 2017, Hilltop Supermarket held the 2nd annual Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook Off. The weather was cool, with a slight breeze. It was just a wonderful day for the event.

Upon arriving at Hilltop, your senses were bombarded with the smell of great BBQ cooking.

The cook off was held in honor of Dwayne Byard who past away last year. Proceeds from the event went towards a scholarship fund for Dwayne’s grandchildren.

3rd Annual Deputy Bubba Johnson Memorial 5K Road Race brings Community Together

August 17, 2016

Deputy Bubba Johnson Memorial 5K Road RaceClarksville, TN – The 3rd Annual Deputy Bubba Johnson Memorial 5K Road Race took place Saturday night, August 13th, 2016 at Beachaven Winery. The 1 Mile Fun Run started at 8:30pm and the 5k began at 9:00pm.

A slight rain moved into the area but tapered off by the start of the race. 322 people preregistered for the event and by race time, there were 358 runners/walkers participating.

“This event has grown really good over the last three years. It’s going to be an exciting night,” said Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson. “These are good times.”

108th annual Lone Oak Picnic Simply Wonderful

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN – On Saturday, July 30th, 2016 the Central Civitan Club hosted the 108th annual Lone Oak Picnic at the Central Civitan Building. The event began at 10:00am and went on until around 3:00pm.

There was plenty of good conversations, entertainment and great food to go around. Those running for office were allowed to address those in attendance starting at 11:00am.

“We had a pretty good crowd this year. Appreciate everyone being here. If you weren’t able to be here, I’m sorry you missed it. Maybe you can be here next year,” said Larry Pitts with Central Civitan.

Lions Club Sheriff’s Office Appreciation Breakfast

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Queen City Lions Club held their annual Sheriff’s Office Appreciation Breakfast over the weekend.

After a breakfast of sausage and pancakes, local Lions Club President Ed Lantz presented awards to three deputies in recognition of their service to Montgomery County.

Deputy Adam Liberatore received The Lions Cub Award. The award is presented to a deputy with less than one year of service.

Hilltop SupermarketClarksville, TN – Saturday, May 7th, was a great day for the Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook Off held at Hilltop Super Market. It was warm with a cool wind. Great weather for the event.
