New health professions building and new military institute coming to APSU

Clarksville, TN – Major changes are coming to Austin Peay State University (APSU) with the addition of a 114,600-square-foot, three-story Health Professions Building on Eighth Street and the creation of the state’s first Institute for National Security and Military Studies.

Clarksville, TN – This May, three prominent Tennessee public servants will visit Austin Peay State University (APSU) to serve as commencement speakers for the University’s three commencement ceremonies.
Former Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, U.S. Representative Mark Green and State Representative Jason Hodges will be on campus May 3th and 4th, 2019 as Austin Peay State University, the state’s fastest-growing public University, expands its graduation celebration to two days.

Clarksville, TN – On Sunday, March 10th, 2019 at 2:00pm, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County (HFHMCTN) will hold dedication ceremonies for two new homes at 304 Reynolds Street and 1318 Cedar Street in Clarksville.
The local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International partners with low income families, volunteers and builders to provide decent, affordable housing to those who do not qualify for a conventional home loan.

Clarksville, TN – On Sunday, August 16th Beachaven Winery concert series ‘Jazz on the Lawn’ featured music by the Back Road Brigade sponsored by the Joe Padula Show on 1400 WJZM to benefit the LEAP Organization.
”I was impressed with the attendance for our first event of this magnitude. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and it provided an opportunity for board members to interact with staff and volunteers” commented County Commissioner Jason Hodges who serves on the LEAP Board and spearheaded the event.
