Girl Scout Autumn Wirts is assisting Salvation Army with a Winter Coat Drive

Clarksville, TN – The Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary along with the assistance of Autumn Wirts from Girl Scout troop 220 are holding a winter coat until November 12th. There are so many individuals who do not have Winter Coats for the approaching cold weather. So please help by donating serviceable coats and jackets. All sizes are needed from infants to adults.
You can bring your coats for donation to the James D. Amos Emergency Shelter located at 210 Kraft Street, or arrange for pickup by calling Debbie Hadley 931.206.6332 or Sandra Gray 931.206.9115.

2010 American Honey Queen to visit Clarksville

Clarksville, TN – Lisa Schluttenhofer, the 2010 American Honey Queen, will visit Clarksville Tennessee November 4th-9th. She will make appearances at the local schools, speaking to students about how honeybee pollination creates the building blocks of our food supply.
She will also speak to area Girl Scout troops where she will share information about the many uses for helpful and wholesome honey, including the beauty secrets provided by bees. Her visit will also include speeches to the Clarksville Sunrise Rotary and the Montgomery County Beekeepers Association. [Read more]
Billy Dunlop Park closing to the public
July 12, 2009
Billy Dunlop Park will be closed to the public from July 13th-25th. The park is located on Needmore Road between 101st Parkway and Tiny Town Road. The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be using the park during these days for private events. The park will reopen to the public on July 25 at noon. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
