Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – G.H.O.S.T. – or Greater Halloween Options for Safe Trick-or-treating – returns to the Austin Peay State University (APSU) campus this fall with a drive-through-style alternative for families on Halloween.

The event is free and open to anyone in the community. Austin Peay State University clubs and organizations, and groups from throughout the community, dress up and hand out candy.

Austin Peay State University Phi Kappa Phi chapter awarded literacy grant

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP)—the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines—recently presented John Blake, Austin Peay State University associate professor of engineering technology, with a 2014 Literacy Grant. Blake, president of APSU’s PKP chapter, is one of 14 recipients nationwide to receive the award.

Austin Peay State University Physics Club named outstanding chapter

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Last year, members of Austin Peay State University’s Society of Physics Students (SPS) chapter sent an email to the national organization, loaded with 45 megabytes of attachments.

Somehow, the email made it to College Park, MD, where officials probably spent weeks wading through hundreds of images and documents detailing all the activities the APSU club, known Del Square Psi, had participated in throughout the year.

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – As you shop for groceries, Halloween goodies and other items, remember to pick up a new book or two to donate to the annual Candy for the Mind project at Austin Peay State University.

For the 10th consecutive Halloween, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) at APSU is collecting new and gently used children’s books for its Candy for the Mind project. Members of the campus and local community are invited to support this effort through donations of books or funds for the purchase of books.

Members of the campus and local community are invited to support this effort through donations of books or funds for the purchase of books.

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – For the eighth consecutive Halloween, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) at Austin Peay State University is collecting new and gently used children’s books for its Candy for the Mind project.

Through this project, PKP distributed more than 1,500 books to community children during last year’s G.H.O.S.T. (Great Halloween Options for Safe Trick-or-Treating), the on-campus alternative for safe trick-or-treating. Currently, PKP has some books on hand for distribution during G.H.O.S.T., slated this year from 4:00pm-7:00pm, Sunday, October 31st but needs many more. Since the inception of the Candy for the Mind project in 2003, hundreds of children who trick-or-treat at APSU have been thrilled to receive a book as a Halloween treat. [Read more]
