New APSU Biogeography Class to Take Students to Rocky Mountains

Clarksville, TN – The base camp, consisting of a few tents and sleeping bags, will sit in a secluded valley, in the shadow of the 14,000-foot Blanca Peak in Colorado. At night, when the exhausted team of researchers returns from their 2,000-foot hike to get some rest, they’ll have to bundle up to warm themselves against the cold air blowing down the mountain.

APSU schedules 2 college preview days

Clarksville, TN – High school students interested in knowing more about attending Austin Peay State University are encouraged to visit campus during Fall 2010 AP Day, October 30th or November 13th, both of which are Saturdays.
University faculty, staff and students will provide the same informational sessions and activities on both days.
Check-in for both days is at 10:00am in the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center. Students and their parents will receive tickets for lunch in the campus cafeteria, located on the main floor of Morgan University Center. Also, during that time, guests will have opportunities to tour the campus and meet with professors and current Austin Peay students. [Read more]
APSU in school supply contest against MTSU until September 10th

More than just football will be taking place September 11th.
The Governors will play Middle Tennessee State University that evening at MTSU’s Floyd Stadium, but between now and September 10th, the two schools are competing to see which one can collect the most donations of school supplies for their respective county schools.
The Daily News Journal in Murfreesboro and The Leaf-Chronicle in Clarksville are sponsoring the inaugural Presidents Cup trophy to honor the school with the greater campus collection of school supplies leading up to the game. [Read more]

The 2009 ASPU Wellness Expo will be held in the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center on the campus of Austin Peay from 11:00am to 3:00pm and is free to the general public.
The Wellness Expo offers the community access to information on health, wellness and fitness services and providers throughout the area.
Several Clarksville companies, including health spas, chiropractor clinics, physical therapy clinics, community programs and services, health clubs, among others will be available for demos, gift certificates, product samples, and business information and offer ways in which they can help you or your family make choices that will promote wellness in every aspect of your everyday life.

Govs summer camp offers “something different” for Clarksville youngsters

“What are we gonna do with our kids this summer?” If I have heard that question once, I have heard it a thousand times. While there are several great church camps, sports camps, and other community programs here in Clarksville, a new recreational children’s camp at Austin Peay, is available for the Clarksville community.
Junior Govs Summer Camp for kids 5-12, put on by Austin Peay University Recreation, which will be in its 3rd year this summer, is specifically geared towards APSU faculty, staff, and students, but is open to everyone including Fort Campbell families who are looking for something different for their children this summer.
