On Saturday, May 13th, 2023 from 10:00am to 3:00pm, visitors can step back in time and get a glimpse of what life was like during the Civil War era.
Partnering with The Friends of Fort Defiance, this event promises to be an immersive experience with 19th-century living history demonstrations. Attendees can witness Civil War camp life, watch musket and artillery firing, learn about period cooking, and even participate in fun children’s activities.

This outdoor historical event is on Saturday, December 11th, 2021 at Fort Defiance Civil War Park from 2:00pm until 3:30pm.
Visitors will be able to step back in time and create period decorations, visit with a 19th century Santa, decorate a Christmas tree, and enjoy eggnog, cakes, caroling, and more.

Clarksville, TN – Grab a blanket and pack a picnic lunch for Music at the Fort, an outdoor musical event Saturday, June 27th, 2020 at Fort Defiance Civil War Park.
“This will be our first event since the pandemic, so we’re certainly glad to be back,” said William Parker, Historical Interpreter at Fort Defiance. “It’ll be a great opportunity for patrons to see the park and hear some music from the past.”
Guests will enjoy a string band playing music of the 19th century.

Clarksville, TN – Dennis Pulley will present a session about “Leather Tanning” at 1:00pm Saturday, August 19th, 2017 at Clarksville’s Fort Defiance Civil War Park as part of an educational series, Life in the 1800s.
Visitors will be able to view and learn about leather tanning techniques from the 19th century, including information about types of leather and tools used during the tanning process.
