Clarksville Park and Recreation’s Fright on Franklin provides Halloween Family Fun

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s annual Fright on Franklin was a huge success, with thousands coming out to enjoy great weather, cute costumes and seemingly endless buckets of candy.

This year’s activities were rescheduled for Sunday, which turned out to be a great move, as areas of Clarksville were devastated by strong winds that moved through Montgomery County Saturday afternoon.

About 70 tents were lined up along Franklin Street, Public Square, First Street and Strawberry Alley, from which costumed volunteers from local businesses and organizations handed out treats from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.

Planters Bank Presents at the Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – Follow the yellow brick road to the Roxy Regional Theatre on the corner of Franklin Street and First Street in Downtown Clarksville on Sunday, November 3rd, 2019 as we go “over the rainbow” with Judy Garland! Planters Bank Presents… “The Wizard of OZ” at 2:00pm.

In 1939’s much-loved musical movie adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s classic novel, Kansas girl Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked by a tornado into the magical land of Oz, where they are joined by the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion on an adventure down the Yellow Brick Road to persuade the Wizard to help her find her way home.

Richard O’Brien’s “The Rocky Horror Show” Returns to the Roxy Regional Theatre for the Eighth Year, October 25th – November 2nd

That sweet transvestite and his motley crew are back for the eighth year in an annual tradition at the Roxy Regional Theatre on the corner of Franklin Street and First Street in Historic Downtown Clarksville.

Richard O’Brien’s cult classic “The Rocky Horror Show” returns to the Roxy Regional Theatre for a limited engagement on Friday, October 25th, at 8:00pm. In keeping with the theatre’s traditional pay-what-you-can opening night, all tickets not pre-sold at the regular ticket price will go on sale at 7:30pm that evening for a $5.00 minimum donation.

Roxy Regional Theatre serves up “Greater Tuna” in theotherspace, October 14th – 22nd

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – Two actors, twenty characters, and a barrel of laughs are coming to the Roxy Regional Theatre at the corner of Franklin Street and First Street in Historic Downtown Clarksville this month.

Following on the heels of last season’s hit holiday comedy A Tuna Christmas, Ryan Bowie and Brian Best return to the third smallest town in Texas (where the Lion’s Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies) in “Greater Tuna”, playing October 14th through October 22nd in theotherspace, the 50-seat black-box theatre located upstairs at the Roxy Regional Theatre.

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – This month, the legendary late Governor of Texas Ann Richards will be the focus of an inspiring and hilarious play at the Roxy Regional Theatre on the corner of Franklin Street and First Street in Historic Downtown Clarksville, bringing audiences face-to-face with a complex, colorful and captivating character bigger than the state from which she hailed.

“Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels.”  Borrowing a phrase from cartoonist Bob Thaves to argue for more women in positions of power, feisty politician Ann Richards came to national attention when she delivered the keynote address at the 1988 Democratic National Convention.
