<h3>Billy Dunlop Park</h3>
<p>Billy Dunlop Park will be closed to the public beginning at 3:00pm, October 19th. The park will reopen to the public the following day.</p>
<h3>Final Jammin’ in the Alley Concert</h3>
<p><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-35189" title="Jammin' In the Alley" src="http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/jammininthealley-200x188.jpg" alt="Jammin' In the Alley" width="140" height="132" />The City of Clarksville together with U.S. Bank will soon be Jammin’ in Strawberry Alley. Join us on Friday, October 15th downtown Clarksville for this season’s last free concert featuring Diana Pelham!</p>
<p>The concert begins at 7:00pm, come ready to eat, dance and have fun!</p>
<h3>Bird Watching</h3>
<p>Come out to the Clarksville Greenway, located at 1101 Pollard Road, on Saturday, October 23rd from 8:00am-9:00am to learn birding basics and how to identify birds. This event is free to the public, for more information please call 931-645-7476.</p>
<h3>Bark in the Park</h3>

<p>The event will take place October 16th from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Bark Park located at Heritage Park.</p>
<h3>Register TODAY for Youth &amp; Adult Basketball Leagues</h3>
<p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/basketball.jpg"   class="thickbox no_icon" rel="gallery-4141" title="basketball"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-11772" title="basketball" src="http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/basketball-144x200.jpg" alt="" width="144" height="200" /></a>Clarksville Parks &amp; Recreation will hold sign-ups for our youth basketball league open to ages 7-17, from October 9th-22nd from 8:00am-4:30pm at the Parks &amp; Recreation main office located at 104 Public Square. Please bring your child’s birth certificate. Practices will begin November 1st and games will begin November 29th.</p>
<p>Sign-ups for adults, ages 18+ basketball league will be held at the Parks &amp; Recreation’s main office located at 104 Public Square from 8:00am-4:30pm from October 8th-18th. Practices will begin October 18th and games will begin November 15th.</p>
<p>Sign-ups for the youth league will also take place October 9th, 16th, and 23rd from noon to 4:00pm at the Mall. Lastly, you can sign-up for both leagues at any of our three community centers.</p>
<h3>“Art on the Park” Contest</h3>

Students in grades 9-12 can submit their artwork now for the chance to win a $100.00 gift card, your framed artwork and the opportunity to paint your own design on various walls of the Heritage Park Skatepark!</p>
<p>All artwork may use up to 6 colors and must be submitted on 11” x 17” size poster board to the Parks &amp; Recreation Main office located at 104 Public Square no later than 4:00pm on October 18th.</p>

<h3>Kleeman Haunted Mansion</h3>
<p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/halloween-graphic.gif"   class="thickbox no_icon" rel="gallery-4141" title="Halloween"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-10916" title="Halloween" src="http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/halloween-graphic-175x200.gif" alt="Halloween" width="175" height="200" /></a>Come for a night of fun and frights at the Kleeman Community Center located at 166 Cunningham Lane.</p>
<p>The haunting is October 22nd and 23rd from 7:00pm-10:00pm. Cost is $2.00 for adults (Ages 18 and up) and $1.00 for children (Ages 6-17).</p>
<h3>Fright on Franklin</h3>
<p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Fright-on-Franklin-2010-2.jpg"   class="thickbox no_icon" rel="gallery-4141" title="Fright-on-Franklin-2010-2"><img class="alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-49495" title="Fright-on-Franklin-2010-2" src="http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/Fright-on-Franklin-2010-2-130x200.jpg" alt="" width="130" height="200" /></a>The 2nd Annual Fright on Franklin, presented by City of Clarksville and Planter’s Bank, will once again offer safe trick-or-treating. Local businesses will line Franklin Street and Downtown Clarksville on Saturday, October 30th to pass out candy.</p>
<p>Fright on Franklin activities will begin at 4:00pm with a Costume Contest kicking off at 5:00pm. The Costume Contest is open to all ages. Participants can register before the event at Parks and Recreation or on October 30th, from 4:00pm-4:45pm downtown on Franklin Street. Admission is free.</p>

<h3>Live Entertainment</h3>
<p>Live entertainment will be on four stages all weekend during Riverfest. The music kicks off Friday night at 5:00pm with a great lineup of Christian performers on the Gateway Stage including the multiple Dove Award nominated group Addison Road. A variety of performers to include Diana Pelham, Chris Monhollen, Eden’s Edge and comedian James Fyke will take the Budweiser Stage on Friday night, followed by the Grammy nominated country music artist, James Otto.</p>

<p><!--more-->The entertainment continues when gates open at 10am on Saturday. The Budweiser stage will feature the Cumberland Jazz Project followed by a special tribute to our military and victims of the September 11th tragedy. On the Gateway stage, watch as local dance academies strut their stuff followed by the Gateway to Stardom talent showcase.</p>
<p>Saturday evening, the Budweiser stage will light up the Riverwalk with the Beaver Country Idol Competition, the country rock band Kingbilly, and country music artist, Jimmy Wayne. The Gateway Stage will feature Julylee, Guest, and the Christian pop rock band, Everlife.</p>

<p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/cfmlogo.jpg"   class="thickbox no_icon" rel="gallery-3593" title="cfmlogo"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-45944" title="cfmlogo" src="http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/cfmlogo.jpg" alt="" width="257" height="154" /></a>While this year’s entertainment lineup is filled with great performers, Riverfest has tons of other exciting activities too. The Adventure Zone and Toddler Town will be bigger and better this year taking place in the newly opened North Extension of the Riverwalk. This area will feature a petting zoo, inflatables, a rock climbing wall, archery, cooking demonstrations, and even a hot air balloon!</p>
<p><span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.clarksvillefamily.com"   target="_blank">Clarksville Family Magazine</a></span> is once again sponsoring the Toddler Town which features activities for Children 5 and under.</p>
<p>There will also be a static displays of army vehicles and equipment provided by Fort Campbell.</p>
<h3>River of Culture</h3>
<p>While enjoying Riverfest, be sure to stop at the River of Culture Stage for a captivating showcase of dances and traditions from various cultures from all around the world. Hula dancing, ballet and martial arts are just some of the things you will find on the River of Culture stage.</p>

<p>The River of Culture area feature a diverse community of entertainment and educational experiences. Participating cultural groups will be sharing the history and the development of their varied cultures through interactive booths. Among the many cultural groups to showcase their way of life will be Brazil, France, Japan, Latin, Panama and Hawaii. Some groups will also be entertaining festival guests with exciting dances, musical performances, and story telling from their own culture. The River of Culture area is sponsored by US Bank.</p>

These are featured at various locations in downtown Clarksville including: the Smith-Trahern Mansion on McClure Street, the <span class='bm_keywordlink'><a href="http://www.customshousemuseum.org/"   target="_blank">Customs House Museum</a></span> on Second Street, and the Downtown Artists Co-Op on Franklin Street. The exhibits are judged and over $2,500 in prizes are awarded.</p>

<h3>Riverfest Regatta</h3>

<p>Join us as we kick off Riverfest Regatta’s 4th year Saturday morning at 10:00am at the courtesy boat dock. Watch as groups attempt to paddle their cardboard boats to the finish line on the Cumberland River. Awards are given out in several different categories. If you and your group would like to be a part of the Riverfest Regatta, go to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.clarksvilleriverfest.com/"  >www.clarksvilleriverfest.com</a> to print out an application form and return it to the Parks and Recreation office no later than September 8th, 2010.</p>
<h3>Lighted Boat Parade</h3>
<p>The Lighted Boat Parade is another event you can catch this year at Riverfest. Boats decorated with hundreds of lights and other decorations begin their parade route at the Montgomery County Conservation Club. Jurors at the McGregor Park courtesy boat dock judge the boats in several categories while spectators watch the boats pass by the RiverWalk.</p>

<p>Sit back and watch as the Cumberland River is illuminated in a majestic display of floating lights during the 3rd Annual Riverfest Lighted Boat Parade to be held Saturday, September 11th at 8 pm. Judging will take place at the McGregor Park courtesy boat dock. The event will be hosted by the Montgomery County Conservation Club. Locations throughout McGregor Park during the Riverfest Celebration will offer public viewing. In the event of inclement weather, boats will be judged at the Montgomery County Conservation Club and boats will not be expected to travel the parade route. Award results will be announced onstage after the completion of the parade.</p>
<h3>Wait Staff Wars</h3>
<p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/waiter.jpg"   class="thickbox no_icon" rel="gallery-3593" title="waiter"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-45942" title="waiter" src="http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/waiter.jpg" alt="" width="165" height="200" /></a>Wait Staff Wars is back- this popular competition, sponsored by Chef Mart is sure to keep you entertained. Local restaurants’ servers will compete to prove they have what it takes to be the best wait staff in Clarksville. Watch servers compete in categories such as Best Balance, Best Memory, Speediest Bussing, Quickest Drink Server, Bartender With the most Flair, Best Customer Service. The contest will be entertaining and just may help you decide where you and your family will dine next time you eat out! It takes place Saturday at 1p.m. in the Food Court.</p>
<h3>Corn Hole Tournament</h3>
<p><img class="size-full wp-image-45941 alignright" title="cornhole" src="http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/cornhole.jpg" alt="" width="230" height="107" />The festival will be presenting a Corn Hole Tournament. The contest features contestants located across from each other, each one tries to toss their beanbag into their opponents corn hole.</p>
