2018 Austin Peay State University Homecoming King and Queen Crowned

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University announced the 2018 APSU Homecoming Court and crowned Homecoming King and Queen during halftime at the APSU Governors football game against Tennessee Tech at Fortera Stadium this past Saturday, October 27th.
LaQuandra McGhee a senior Social Work major was crowned Homecoming Queen. McGhee from Antioch Tennessee was sponsored by Kappa Alpha Psi, NPHC, SODA.
Business Accounting major Jake Bumpus from Ashland City Tennessee crowned Homecoming King. Bumpus was sponsored by Chi Omega Women’s Fraternity.
CMCSS Wins First Place in National Awards Program

Alexandria, VA – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) is a first-place winner in the 23rd annual Magna Awards program, which is sponsored by the National School Boards Association’s (NSBA’s) flagship magazine, American School Board Journal (ASBJ).
The Magna Awards recognize school districts and their leaders for taking bold and innovative steps to improve the lives of students and their communities.
Five AAU National Basketball Championships in Four Years Means Millions of Dollars For Clarksville – Montgomery County Community

Clarksville, TN – Over the next four years, Clarksville-Montgomery County will host five high economic impact AAU Basketball Championships bringing in a total of $8.9 million of revenue. The 2015 event will be held this upcoming July 10th-15th.
The community will welcome the 2015-2018 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) 10U Boy’s Basketball National Championships as well as the 2016 AAU 6th Grade Girl’s National Championships. In total, over 15,000 visitors will pass through to be a part of, or watch, the games. APSU Senior Exhibition “Third World America” by Stephanie Camfield at Trahern Gallery November 3rd

Clarksville, TN – On Monday, November 3rd, 2014, the Trahern Gallery, located on Austin Peay State University Campus, will be hosting a BFA show featuring “Third World America” from designer Stephanie Camfield.
Camfield’s “Third World America” exhibit features posters and photographs that examine concerns in the United States and raise awareness of some issues Americans currently face.
Markets gain ground, await further Fed guidance

Clarksville, TN – July was certainly eventful in terms of market movements and economic news. Stocks were up for the month, with the S&P 500 posting its biggest monthly gain since January, making up for its decline in June.
All the major indices ended July in higher territory after housing prices posted their largest gain in seven years and the Commerce Department reported that advanced estimates show that gross domestic product grew more than forecast in the second quarter. [Read more]
