Montgomery County Visitor Spending Tops $205 Million in 2015

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Department of Tourist Development Commissioner Kevin Triplett today announced Tennessee tourism’s direct domestic and international travel expenditures reached an all-time high of $18.4 billion in 2015, up 3.7 percent over the previous year, as reported by the U.S. Travel Association.

Numbers for Montgomery County increased to $205.1 million, up 1.3% over 2014.

CVB Announces New Board Leadership for 2016-17 Year

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau announces that Louisa Cooke has been named chairman of the board of directors for the 2016-17 year beginning July 1st.

Cooke previously served as chairman of the board in 2006-07, 2001-02 and 1997-98, and has served on the board of directors for a total of nine years since 1996.

“Du The Dream” in Clarksville at 2015 Dream Factory Duathlon

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Dream Factory and Visit Clarksville are excited to announce the second annual “Du the Dream” Duathlon on April 25th, 2015.

The “Du the Dream” Duathlon will be held near Beachaven Vineyards and Winery, 1100 Dunlop Lane, and will consist of a run-bike-run course designed for the whole family. All proceeds will support the Clarksville Chapter of the Dream Factory, the second-largest children’s wish-granting organization in the U.S. Money granted to The Dream Factory funds wishes of children who are not only terminally ill, but also children who suffer with chronic and critical illness. Clarksville to host Professional Horseshoe Pitching Tournament this weekend

Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and Visitors BureauClarksville, TN – For horseshoe pitching enthusiasts, the 2014 HP Pro Tour Open Horseshoe Tournament will be making its way to Montgomery County’s Civitan Park June 28th-29th.

The HP Pro Tour is a series of horseshoe pitching tournaments, held monthly during the spring and summer, where competitors try to get as many ringers as possible and walk away with big cash prizes. Sixty pitchers from across the Southeast will make their way to Clarksville to take part in the competition.

Aspire Clarksville, an economic development foundation to benefit Clarksville-Montgomery County, Tennessee, officially announced in February that the goal for the entire Aspire V “Focus On The Future” Campaign was $3.8 million.
