2019 Polar Plunge raises over $10,000 for Special Olympics

2019 Polar Plunge at APSUClarksville, TN – Dozens of brave souls signed up for this year’s Polar Plunge, which was held Saturday at Austin Peay State University’s Foy Fitness and Recreation Center Pool. Spectators enjoyed a very eclectic costume contest, followed by teams and individuals diving into the chilly water, all to support Tennessee Special Olympics.

‘Plungers’ who raised money for the cause were rewarded for their fund-raising efforts with post-plunge pizza. Some prizes were awarded for costume contest winners, as well as outstanding fund-raising achievement.

Members of the Clarksville Police Department led the charge at this year's Polar Plunge. The event held Saturday at APSU's Foy Pool raised more than $10,000 for Tennessee Special Olympics.

Clarksville’s Riverside Drive Pedestrian Bridge to get Painted

Motorists should be alert for reduced speeds and rerouting of lanes through the work zone.

You can become the proud owner of a new furry friend. CPD’s featured pets are named Cole and Wolfy.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Fourth Annual Run for C.O.P.S. will kick off the 2018 National Law Enforcement Week with a fun, non-competitive, fitness event for the whole family. This 5k will take place in Historic Downtown Clarksville starting at the Clarksville Police Department and going through the downtown area.

The event will take place Saturday, May 12th, 2018 from 9:00am until 11:00am.

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett have proclaimed August as “Kindness is Cool — Back to School Month.”

Durrett and Clarksville Mayor Pro Tem Valerie Guzman presented the proclamation Tuesday at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library as part of Clarksville Kindness Rocks project to promote random acts of kindness using art as a creative way to touch people.

Clarksville Police Department’s 5k Run/Walk for C.O.P.S. a huge success

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department held a 5k Run/Walk to raise money for C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) this past Saturday, May 13th, 2017. The event was held at the Clarksville Police Department Headquarters located at 135 Commerce Street. The entry fee was $25.00.

“The weather today was perfect. There are a lot of families here and around 200 participates,” said CPD Captain Scott Thornton.

All proceeds will be donated to the C.O.P.S. Foundation to benefit the families of law enforcement personnel killed in the line of duty.
