1st Annual Operation Warm-Up Saturday, November 9th

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, November 9th, 2013, Serenity House Women’s Shelter, Inc. is sponsoring the 1st Annual Operation Warm-Up at the Evangelic Temple Church of God in Christ Fellowship Hall.
As the winter months approach us, our hearts and minds turn to those in our community who may be less fortunate; those who spend their days on the streets, and if there is space, their nights in a shelter.

Clarksville, TN – As my wife and I were preparing for a recent vacation, we started collecting the books we planned to read while on our trip. I usually grab the latest offering by Harlan Coben, Patricia Cornwell, or John Grisham.
She is currently catching up on the “Left Behind” series, but as she was putting our choices in the bag, she reached for my autographed copy of “When Newspapers Mattered: The News Brothers & their Shades of Glory” written by former Leaf-Chronicle “newspapermen” Tim Ghianni and Rob Dollar.

A Coffee Drive Thru and a Prayer for You

For this reason, Appleton’s has joined with the First Church of the Nazarene to offer a little something to help brighten up people’s mornings on their way to work. Starting tomorrow, December 21st thru Christmas Eve, stop by Appleton Harley-Davidson from 7:00am-8:30am for their Coffee, Prayer and a Doughnut drive through. [Read more]
APSU professor to discuss project with farmers in Haiti

Clarksville, TN – An Austin Peay State University professor will discuss a project he began in Haiti last summer with funding from the University.
Dr. Matthew Kenney, interim director of APSU’s President’s Emerging Leaders Program and associate professor of political science, will present discuss “A New Mocha Model: Coffee and Cocoa as a Path to Development in Haiti” from 3:00pm-4:00pm, Thursday, September 23rd in the Honors Commons building (formerly Memorial Health/Red Barn).
The event is free and open to the public. Coffee, donated by Mag’s Coffee on Riverside Drive, and chocolate will be served. [Read more]
