Clarksville, TN – Painting an “X” on the Austin Peay State University (APSU) spirit rock might be the best way to mark a history club’s 10th straight national best chapter award.
Austin Peay State University’s Phi Alpha Theta National Honor Society chapter once again won the Nels A. Cleven Award for Best Chapter of the Year. That’s 10 in a row.

Women Who Paint Women Are Alive and Well at Customs House Museum

Clarksville, TN – So often we admire paintings and artworks of artists who are not accessible for questions or comments. Not so was the case Thursday night, August 11th. Customs House Museum hosted a gala affair which introduced an exhibit entitled “Women Painting Women 2016”.
Featured artists’ works included those of Denise Stewart Sanabria who created life size cutouts of people whose only identity were numbers, but whose personalities were evident in the charcoal and pastel pencil on plywood models. They reminded one of oversized paper dolls, just ready to come to life.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation holds third annual Wettest Egg Hunt at Indoor Aquatic Center

Clarksville, TN – The Indoor Aquatic Center once again played host to one of the most popular Easter events in Clarksville, The Wettest Egg Hunts. On Saturday, April 12th, thousands of brightly colored eggs were put into the swimming and wading pools, to await the hundreds of children who would plunge in to seek out a variety of prizes.
Many of the eggs floated, but some were weighted causing them to sink to the bottom of the pool.

The 94th Meeting
Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, January 18th, 2012 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Hospital. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall. The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public.
