Clarksville, TN – Random Acts of Kindness have received national media attention this year and I am grateful to the many citizens of our country for this. I want to take this opportunity to recognize and salute the citizens of Clarksville & Montgomery County for their Random Acts of Kindness and caring spirit during this Christmas Season.
I have witnessed citizens from every walk of life ringing the Salvation Army Bells to help others. Our Clarksville Police and Sheriff’s Departments have stepped up helping to provide food and Christmas for others in our community. [Read more]
Lasaters Christmas Cash Sweepstakes winner receives $1000

Clarksville, TN – Lasaters Coffee and Tea has announced the winner of their $1000 cash sweepstakes giveaway. In a presentation ceremony Friday at the Sango location of the popular coffee shop, Michael Clark of Clarksville received his $1000 check.
In a promotion that included WJZM radio, and Clarksville Online, Lasaters offered a chance to win the one thousand dollars, along with other prizes including an ipad, roku box, and more. The contest received over eight thousand entries.

“Christmas Down Home” comes to Austin Peay State University

A Coffee Drive Thru and a Prayer for You
Clarksville, TN – Although most people think of the holidays as a time of cheer, for others it can be a hard time when it comes to thinking of loved ones lost or perhaps in our town a husband or wife that is overseas in the military leaving their families behind unable to share Christmas with their loved ones.

Kleeman Community Center Christmas Outreach Program

Clarksville, TN – Tuesday, December 13th, the Kleeman Community Center was filled with hopeful children awaiting Santa Claus to grace them with an early appearance.
The program was organized by Kleeman Community Center Director Tonya Wacker, who had this to say, “It’s unfortunate for some members of our community that this will be the only taste of Christmas they will be able to experience. My desire is to spread hope and holiday cheer to uplift their spirits.”
Customs House Museum’s “Snowflake Special” Christmas model trains to run through December

Clarksville, TN – The Roxy Regional Theatre’s annual production of A Christmas Carol is in full swing after three very successful weekends. With the holidays being such an important time to us all, and our actors having to give up some of these holiday traditions to be apart of this cast, I thought it would be good for us all to reflect on what makes Christmas special to us.

Clarksville Transit System to provide Transportation for Christmas Celebration

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Transit System will provide “added service” transportation to the 4th Annual Warm Souls Christmas event provided by the Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries. The celebration will take place on December 24th, 2011 from noon to 4:00pm.
“We are very happy that the Clarksville Transit System is able to provide this added service transportation to this great community event through its existing routes,” said Mayor Kim McMillan. The Mayor is planning to ride one of the buses to the event. [Read more]
