Anonymous gift launches partnerships between APSU Southeastern Grasslands Initiative, other organizations

Clarksville, TN – Two anonymous donors recently made a generous $50,000 commitment to Austin Peay State University (APSU) to expand the operations of the Southeastern Grasslands Initiative (SGI) into southern Tennessee and northern Georgia.

Clarksville, TN – Some years move along at a quiet, steady pace, continuing the traditions and patterns of the previous year before quietly fading into the next. No milestones mark the passage of time, and people often find themselves bored or, worse yet, uninspired.
At Austin Peay State University, 2014 was not that type of year. The last 12 months passed with such speed, thanks to major changes within the University, that the campus community will likely remember this past year as a crucial time in Austin Peay’s progression into a leading institution of higher learning.
Kiara Young Crowned Miss Tennessee USA 2015 in Clarksville Saturday night

Clarksville, TN – Miss Tennessee USA was crowned Saturday night, making her Tennessee’s next hopeful in the 2015 Miss USA pageant.
Miss Greater Nashville, Kiara Young, accepted her new crown from the reigning Miss Tennessee USA, Kristy Landers Niedenfuer of Nashville. Niedenfuer also placed in the top 20 at the Miss USA pageant this past June in Baton Rouge.
APSU’s New Governors Stadium to be community venue

Clarksville, TN – On Monday afternoon, crews with Bell Construction put the finishing touches on the new, Governors Stadium at Austin Peay State University. Yellow asphalt rollers smoothed out the front entrance and parking lot while workers secured railings to stairwells and swept up loose clumps of dirt.
Everything was being checked and cleaned for the $19 million facility’s grand opening at 10:00am, this Saturday, September 13th.

Tennessee House passes important bond bill

Companies expected to bring thousands of jobs to state over the next decade.
NASHVILLE –The House has voted to bring thousands of new jobs to Tennessee with the passage of a bill that guarantees incentive grants for Volkswagen and Hemlock, two companies scheduled to build new manufacturing facilities in Chattanooga and Clarksville.
