Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce announces upcoming events during the month of November.
On November 10th, the Chamber will be hosting the 20th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast at the Austin Peay State University Morgan Center. The morning will begin with a buffet style breakfast at 7:30am followed by a salute to our veterans and then will conclude with COL Andrew P. Poppas, Deputy Commander (Operations), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), serving as the keynote speaker.

New Starbucks opens inside Austin Peay State University Woodward Library

Clarksville, TN – Justin Hasty, a chemical engineering technology major at Austin Peay State University, gets to campus early most mornings in desperate need of a cup of coffee. He shuffles over to the Woodward Library, instead of the Einstein’s Bros. Bagel shop in the Morgan University Center, yawns and then gets to work studying.

Clarksville, TN – When Austin Peay State University and Murray State meet up Saturday, the Ohio Valley Conference’s most heated rivalry briefly will be put aside as fans unite in the fight against cancer.
In between the games, Wendy’s and Chartwells will be sponsoring the Coaches vs. Cancer Chili and Potato Bar, with all proceeds benefitting Coaches vs. Cancer. The Lady Govs host Murray State at 3:00pm, with the men’s game not set to tip off until 7:00pm Fans are invited to enjoy the pre-game meal while at the same time, joining up in the fight against cancer by making a donation to the American Cancer Society. Japanese cultural events coming to APSU this fall

Two upcoming Global Govs Passport Series events at Austin Peay State University will give students and area residents an intimate taste of Japanese culture this fall.
At 5:00pm on September 28th, the Japanese Consulate in Nashville will host a music and dance performance by the group Global Culture Nasu in the campus’ Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall.
“The performers will be in full blown kimonos and playing traditional Japanese instruments,” Dr. David Nelson, assistant professor of history and Asian studies at APSU, said. [Read more]
APSU to participate in National Night Out

For one evening in August, Austin Peay State University will be among others across the country participating in an event that emphasizes crime prevention information and techniques.
The APSU Department of Public Safety will sponsor National Night Out from 7:00pm-9:00pm, Tuesday, August 3rd on the lawn in front of the Dunn Center and the Intramural Field on the main campus. The event is open to the Clarksville-Montgomery County community.
“With school getting ready to start, this is a great time for parents and their children to learn about the community services available to them when they feel they might need it,” said Sgt. Elizabeth Genthner with Department of Public Safety at APSU. “This is an opportunity for local organizations to get their information to the citizens, and for citizens to get any information they need.”
