Known for their hilarious parodies and quick wit humor, the Nashville-based Doyle & Debbie Show has gained a large cult following over the years. Clarksville is excited to be hosting the masterminds behind the show, Bruce Arntson and Clarksville’s own, Jenny Littleton.

Acclaimed playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis to speak at APSU March 22nd

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – In 2011, playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis created a Broadway sensation when his new play, staring Chris Rock, debuted at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater.

It was the title, with its use of profanity, that caught most people’s attention. Here, we’ll simply refer to it as “The Mother with the Hat.”

The show will take place at this year’s Riverfest, Saturday, September 8th from 9:00pm-11:00pm, on the Gateway Realty Stage. CATS Opens to a Sold-Out Weekend!

Poster for Cats at the Roxy Regional TheatreAs part of its 26th season of presenting quality live theatre, the Roxy Regional Theatre in Clarksville, Tennessee, opened the hit musical CATS on Friday, April 10, to a sold-out house. Tickets are still available for CATS performances through May 2, playing Tuesdays thru Thursdays at 7pm and Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, with a 2pm matinee on Saturday, April 18.

Based on the universally popular poetry of T.S. Eliot, CATS tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of Jellicle cats, at which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heaviside layer. Featuring a cast of seventeen and the fresh and energetic choreography of Braham Logan Crane, CATS is certain to delight and inspire audiences of all ages.

NEHS choirs bring Broadway to local stage

NEHS Exit One, Concert and SSA Women’s Choir have been chosen to open for The Haywood Family Show in Branson, Missouri.

"One" from "A Chorus Line" -- a fitting end to an evening of Broadway

After two months of intensive rehearsals in both voice and choreography, to say nothing of the memorization involved, Broadway came to Clarksville Thursday evening as the Northeast High School Choral Department presented its Spring Show 2009 in the NEHS auditorium.

The show will also be presented Tonight at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, March 22, at 3 p.m. Admission is $5 per adult, $3 per student.

It’s a show that has something extra this year when the Exit One Show  Choir, the Concert Choir  and the SSA Women’s Choir travel to Branson, Missouri in April to perform as the opening act for the Haywood Family Show, with a selection of routines from the current show to be performed and taped “on tour.” [Read more]
