Montgomery County Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink opens Saturday, November 20th

Downtown Commons Ice RinkMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink will return for a fourth year, bringing fun times to downtown Clarksville beginning this Saturday, November 20th, 2021!

The first session kicks off at 4:00pm and then the top of every hour until 8:00pm closing at 8:45pm. There will be a raffle for the first 150 skaters to put their name in a drawing for 10 free tickets to be used throughout the ice skating season.

Between 5:00pm-5:30pm, Nashville Predators’ very own Gnash will be at the rink for a special appearance following the Austin Peay State University football game! Tater Headz will also be open with some satisfying food in the walk-up eatery beginning at 4:00pm.

The Art of Giving event to be held February 22nd in Clarksville

United Way Of Greater ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – DBO Gallery presents The Art of Giving, an upscale, live auction event featuring hand-selected artists, both local and out-of-state. The Art of Giving will take place at the Ruby Cora Saturday, February 22nd, 2020. Cocktail hour starts at 6:00pm with the auction set to begin at 7:00pm.

President of F&M Bank Sammy Stuard will conduct the live auction, presenting works by Olasubomi Aka-Bashorun, Erin Elise, Stephen Watkins, Omari Booker, Lorenzo Swinton, Ty Christian, Douglas Charlton, James Diehr, Chloe Bennett, Andrea Jacobson, and Justin Gaffrey.

Downtown Commons Ice RinkClarksville, TN – Several people come together to sponsor the return of the Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink.

On Wednesday, November 21st, 2018 Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink sponsors gathered to unveil new elements of the ice-skating operations.

In addition to the ice rink being 49% larger than last year, F&M Bank returns as the Winter Ice Rink Title Sponsor with a custom mural wall that was painted by Clarksville Academy students.

“The F&M Bank mural wall is a great place for people to take pictures that will commemorate their time on the ice,” stated Paula Atkins Downtown Commons Event Manager.

Clarksville Historic Urban Trails Brought to Life

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Local historian Carolyn Ferrell and Montgomery County IT ArcGIS Specialist Bryce Hester teamed up to bring three historic urban trails to life in Clarksville.

An urban trail is not a built path through natural scenery but a virtual trail that uses existing sidewalks and crosswalks to lead walkers through a route of interesting urban sights.

The trails Ferrell laid out entices walkers with open-air history lessons packed with interesting historical tidbits about Clarksville’s past.

Pre-Parade SpiritFest Promises Fun, Family-Friendly Activities

Clarksville's SpiritfestClarksville, TN – The 3rd Annual SpiritFest, a holiday event from 2:00pm until 5:00pm on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017, will offer a bounty of free activities, including visits with Santa Claus, rides on the International Express Bus, four kids’ inflatables, live music on the new Downtown Commons stage, ice skating, art and gift markets, food trucks and a live nativity with animals.

It will start three hours before Clarksville’s 58th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade, which will pass by its location in Historic Downtown Clarksville.

SpiritFest, a free “Pre-Parade Celebration of Christmas,” will feature kids’ inflatables, Santa Claus, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies, Christmas music performances by multiple groups, a live nativity including animals, food trucks and two art and gift markets.
