APSU Public Relations, Marketing earns 16 Tennessee College Public Relations Association trophies

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Public Relations and Marketing team won 16 awards during the 2019 Tennessee College Public Relations Association Awards at the association’s May 24th annual meeting.
The team won four golds, five silvers and seven bronzes.

APSU holds 2018 Spring Commencement

Clarksville, TN – Spring Commencement Exercises for Austin Peay State University’s 89th Commencement Year were held Friday, with almost 1,300 students receiving diplomas, and an inspirational commencement address from Valerie Hunter-Kelly, Co-owner Keller Williams Realty-Clarksville.
The Spring Commencement consisted of three sessions, with ceremonies at 8:00am, Noon, and 4:00pm to accommodate the graduates, their friends and families.

APSU ROTC Cadet Zachary Lepley named 2017 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award winner

Clarksville, TN – ROTC Cadet Zachary C. Lepley was presented the 2017 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award during a breakfast ceremony held April 27th at Austin Peay State University.
Lepley is pursuing his Bachelor of Science in political science with a minor in military science from APSU.

APSU to Have Increased Autonomy with Local Governing Board
Clarksville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has appointed eight individuals to the newly created institutional governing board at Austin Peay State University.
The purpose of the appointments is to give the University increased autonomy to support student success as the state continues its Drive to 55 Initiative. Austin Peay State University’s governing board is one of six to be appointed by the governor, a result of the governor’s FOCUS Act passed by the Tennessee General Assembly earlier this year.

APSU to remove Hemlock Semiconductor name

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University officials are moving forward with plans to remove the name from the University’s Hemlock Semiconductor Building.
The decision comes several months after the company offered this option, along with offering its assistance in repurposing the building.

Decorated soldier awarded APSU ROTC CSM Darol Walker Award

Clarksville, TN – The recipient of the 2015 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award at Austin Peay State University is ROTC Cadet Kevin Doss, a decorated career soldier.
Doss, born in San Antonio, Texas, graduated from Boerne High School in 2001 and attended the University of Texas from 2001-03. He will graduate May 8th from APSU with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Military Science.
