Clarksville Sports FestivalClarksville, TN – The sixth-annual Sportsfest sponsored by Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department was held Saturday, August 20th at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center located within Liberty Park at 1188 Cumberland Drive.

Scores of families attended the display of sports groups’ information and numerous activities outdoors.

With his famous quote, “Good leaders must first become good servants,” Greenleaf gave life to the servant-leader movement, which became a staple in college business classes and executive seminars at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st.

Highway Drive Tower Construction Update

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government is pleased to have assisted AT&T in receiving FAA approval for the tower construction on Highway Drive that includes the NOAA weather broadcasting system.

This approval was the final hurdle before the on-site tower construction could begin. Approval was received Friday morning and work began immediately to set a construction date.

AT&T and The Nashville Symphony bring music Rossview Elementary School students

March 2, 2012

Nashville SymphonyNashville, TN – As part of its continuing investment to support the arts and education, AT&T joined the Nashville Symphony this morning for an AT&T Ensembles in the Schools concert. A duo of Nashville Symphony musicians performed two sessions for second and third graders at Rossview Elementary School in Clarksville.

There are more than 35 similar performances slated for this year in Davidson, Wilson, Williamson and Rutherford counties.

Communication Tower Negotiations Compete

December 22, 2011

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government has finalized negotiations with AT&T for construction of a replacement tower on Highway Drive. The tower will house the National Weather Service (NWS) equipment, along with all county emergency backup communication equipment.

The tower will be constructed at 280 feet tall, with the upper 80 feet housing the county equipment and the NWS equipment. AT&T will be able to lease space to other occupants if they choose, but the space above 200 feet will be reserved for county and National Weather Service use only. [Read more]

PEG channel added to U-verse TV in Clarksville, Tennessee

AT&TClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and AT&T Tennessee today announced that Public, Education and Government (PEG) programming provided by The City of Clarksville is now carried on AT&T U-verse® TV Channel 99.

This station is operated by Austin Peay State University (APSU). APSU’s GovTV channel provides its viewers live and rebroadcast coverage of OVC sports, classic arts showcase, NASA and various community events that also include Clarksville’s city council meetings. AT&T U-verse launched in Tennessee in December 2008.

Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, IncClarksville, TN – The job market may be sluggish in some areas, but many employers in Clarksville and Montgomery County are adding to their employee base. To help connect businesses with qualified job candidates, Goodwill’s Career Solutions Center in Clarksville will host a job fair on Wednesday, June 15th from 9:00am until noon.

The center is located at 1592 Fort Campbell Boulevard, next to Goodwill’s retail store. State Senator Tim Barnes is expected to drop by the event at 8:00am and County Mayor Carolyn Bowers plans to meet with employers and job candidates mid morning. [Read more]

APSU School of Nursing receives AT&T Foundation grant

Austin Peay State UniversityWith the help of a $10,000 Communication Foundation Grant from AT&T, the School of Nursing at Austin Peay State University will develop an intervention program for upper-level nursing students pursuing their bachelor’s degrees.

Public Awareness Campaign Aims at Keeping Tennessee Drivers Safe, Protecting Consumers

Nashville, TN — Stop what you’re doing. Take out your wireless device. Read out loud the last text message you received. Would reading or responding to that text message while driving be worth causing a serious accident? When you look at it that way, there is no text that could not wait.

As many Tennessee students head out of school and the Memorial Day weekend approaches, AT&T* has launched a new public service campaign to raise awareness about the risks of texting and driving. Tennessee Attorney General Robert E. Cooper, Metro Nashville Police Chief Steve Anderson, Sen. Jim Tracy, and Rep. This month, AT&T* will rollout another series of enhancements that make AT&T U-verse even better for customers. Today and over the coming weeks, AT&T U-verse will add — at no extra cost as part of customers’ existing subscriptions — upgraded DVR capabilities and user interface enhancements for all customers, increased downstream speeds for AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet Max residential and business customers, and a new On Demand Top Picks application for customers in select markets.
