2018 Austin Peay State University Homecoming King and Queen Crowned

November 2, 2018

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University announced the 2018 APSU Homecoming Court and crowned Homecoming King and Queen during halftime at the APSU Governors football game against Tennessee Tech at Fortera Stadium this past Saturday, October 27th.

LaQuandra McGhee a senior Social Work major was crowned Homecoming Queen. McGhee from Antioch Tennessee was sponsored by Kappa Alpha Psi, NPHC, SODA.

Business Accounting major Jake Bumpus from Ashland City Tennessee crowned Homecoming King. Bumpus was sponsored by Chi Omega Women’s Fraternity.

LaQuandra McGhee was crowned Austin Peay State University Homecoming Queen and Jake Bumpus was crowned King Saturday at the APSU Football game against Tennessee Tech.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – As it prepares for its fifth year, Camp Granada, Austin Peay State University Department of Music’s summer music day camp, continues to expand its mission of providing area children with an opportunity to develop a life-long love of music.

New APSU student health building named after Wayne and Marianne Ard

August 7, 2015

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Earlier this year, Wayne Ard, president of Ard Construction, met Austin Peay State University President Alisa White for breakfast at a local restaurant. The conversation that morning quickly turned to Ard’s wife, Marianne, who passed away a few months earlier in December 2014.

“My wife was an education freak,” Ard told President White. “She felt that every high school student should have a college education. She said that education was something you can’t get too much of. So today, in Marianne’s honor, I’ll make a pledge to you.”

Clarksville’s Valvoline hosts cookout to raise money for Breast Cancer Research

Clarksville, TN – When Doug Wall, owner of Convenient Car Care Inc. of Clarksville, decided to have his company dedicate the month of October to raising awareness and money for the Sarah Cannon Cancer Research Institute, little did he know what an impact it would have.

“My family has been affected by this disease, and it’s a terrible thing. I would do anything to help find a cure,” Wall told Clarksville Online. “My mother and grand-mother both suffered with it. I know what a terrible disease it is, first-hand” said Wall.

Heritage BankClarksville, TN – Heritage Bank is pleased to announce Vickie T. Wallace as the 2013 Heritage Bank Scholarship Fund Montgomery County Honoree.

Nineteen seniors from the Montgomery County area will receive the Heritage Bank High School Scholarship in honor of Mrs. Wallace and the commitment she has made to the Montgomery County community.

Over the last ten years, Heritage Bank has committed over $194,000 dollars in scholarship funds to 388 senior high school students planning to attend a higher education institution. [Read more]
