In 2016, the Nashville State Community College student was looking to earn her bachelor’s degree, and she found a university in another part of Tennessee with a program that assisted students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

They entered this dreary space every week to learn how to incorporate technology into their future classrooms, but the lab’s antiquated design didn’t give them an accurate view of what they’d encounter as teachers in 21st century schools. [Read more]

APSU receives 8-figure gift in memory of former educator

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – There was a noticeable energy around the Austin Peay State University campus on Tuesday. APSU President Tim Hall planned to announce a “transforming gift” that afternoon, prompting faculty, staff, students and the community at large to keep asking, “What is it?”

Their curiosity was apparently overwhelming because a crowd of people packed into the Morgan University Center ballroom, requiring APSU officials to set out more chairs. Finally, after some brief introductions, Hall stepped behind the podium.

Austin Peay State University to break ground on new Math and Computer Science Facility in Fall 2012

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University has announced it will break ground on a new mathematics and computer science building in Fall 2012 on the main campus.

The new $6.7 million facility, designed by Rufus Johnson Associates in Clarksville, will be located on Eighth Street, directly behind the Hemlock Semiconductor Building. The two-story building is projected to open in the spring of 2014.
