Tenth Annual “Frolic on Franklin: A Celebration of the Arts” set for Saturday, September 19th

Clarksville, TN – Downtown Clarksville’s 10th Annual “Frolic on Franklin: A Celebration of the Arts” will take place Saturday, September 19th from 8:30am to 3:30pm. This free event will showcase the works of more than 30 artists, staged entertainment and art demonstrations — all along the 100 block of historic Franklin Street.
A variety of original fine art, as well as handmade crafts, will be on display including paintings and photography, jewelry, clay garden items, wood work, purses and fabric accessories, pottery, candles, jewelry, woven and knitted items, and seasonal gifts. Items will be for sale with prices ranging from $2.00 to $500.00.

Clarksville, TN – On Sunday, August 16th Beachaven Winery concert series ‘Jazz on the Lawn’ featured music by the Back Road Brigade sponsored by the Joe Padula Show on 1400 WJZM to benefit the LEAP Organization.
”I was impressed with the attendance for our first event of this magnitude. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and it provided an opportunity for board members to interact with staff and volunteers” commented County Commissioner Jason Hodges who serves on the LEAP Board and spearheaded the event.

Clarksville, TN – On Sunday, August 16th Beachaven Winery concert series ‘Jazz on the Lawn’ will feature music by the Back Road Brigade sponsored by the Joe Padula Show on 1400 WJZM. The music starts at 1:00pm and goes until 4:00pm.
The theme for this event is Toasting to Youth Development with 10% of proceeds from wine sells being donated to the LEAP Organization.
LEAP is a 501c3 nonprofit youth development organization that instills positive moral growth and sustainable life skills in youth.

The book Magnificent Men compiled by Author and Visionary Treva R. Gordon, of Clarksville, TN combines 50 stories from men who have each authored their very own chapter to share inside the book Magnificent Men, and each share their personal stories of inspiration and faith.

The 7K and 5K race route takes runners through the streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville, beginning and ending at Austin Peay State University’s Governors Stadium, while the One Mile Movement takes you on an exciting tour of a portion of the APSU campus.
For over thirty years, hundreds of Clarksville-Montgomery County and Fort Campbell school students, teachers and family members have participated in this Clarksville tradition.

The Queen City Road Race event is a Clarksville tradition promoting fitness and fun for all ages. The 7K and 5K race route takes runners through the streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville, beginning and ending at Austin Peay State University’s Governors Stadium, while the One Mile Movement takes you on an exciting tour of a portion of the APSU campus.

19th Annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament just around the corner

Clarksville, TN – As the temperatures climb up this weekend it is a reminder the 19th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just around the corner.
This year’s edition will be held Saturday, May 11th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tennessee, State Park. Last season’s tourney drew 264 boats.

“The Princess Bride” and “The Goonies” at Movies in the Park Tonight

Clarksville, TN – Come out to the Heritage Park Soccer fields tonight for Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park event, featuring two movies from the 80’s.
“The Princess Bride” is scheduled to begin around 7:20pm, followed by “The Goonies” around 9:00pm. Both movies are rated PG.
