Final Group of 2012 Working Towards Green Certification

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification ProgramMontgomery County, TN – A seventh group of participants completed the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program (CMCGCP) workshops this month.

The group began the process in October 2012 with plans to complete their certifications by April 2013.

The workshop participants included representation from the following organizations: Advantage Learning Center; Autobody America; Bi-County Solid Waste Management; Clarksville Association of Realtors; Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library; Grace Church of the Nazarene; Lyle-Cook-Martin Architects; Mann, Smith & Cummings Insurance; Montgomery County Health Department; Moore Magnet School and West Gate Inn & Suites.

Participants learn how they can save money on their bottom line expenses, share resources for disposal of waste materials, develop environmental plans and prepare for future mandates and changes through the workshops. Organizations that participate in the workshops also learn about the environmental issues that affect Clarksville-Montgomery County from local professionals who work in those areas.

The presenters represent Bridgestone Metalpha USA; Hemlock Semiconductor L.L.C.; Smithfield Manufacturing Inc.; Bi-County Solid Waste Management, Clarksville Department of Electricity, Clarksville Gas & Water Department, Metropolitan Planning Organization and Montgomery County Stormwater Management.
